Lawn Renewal Package
Three-step hand restoration: scarification with a rake, hollow-tine aeration, and premium overseed. Add topdressing if you supply topsoil.
Best in March–April or September–October · ≤50m² min £150 · >300m² in-person quote
Lawn renovation transforms a tired, patchy, or moss-ridden lawn into a thick, healthy surface. ELawnCare's full renovation service is £200 per 100m² and includes scarification to remove thatch and moss, overseeding to fill bare patches, and top dressing to level the surface. The work is best done in September when soil is warm and autumn rain supports recovery.
The service covers CB1 to CB25 with no callout charge within 8 miles. Every renovation is carried out by the owner, who diagnoses the cause of the lawn's decline before treating it. This matters because a compaction problem needs a different approach to a shade problem or a drainage issue.

Scarification: mechanical removal of thatch, moss, and dead grass to expose the soil surface. Aeration: relieving compaction to allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots. Overseeding: spreading grass seed into the prepared surface to fill bare and thin areas. Top dressing: a thin layer of soil or compost to level the surface and protect seed.
The lawn looks worse immediately after renovation because the aggressive treatment removes a lot of material. Recovery takes three to six weeks in good conditions. By the following spring, the difference is dramatic.
September is the best month. The soil is warm, autumn rain provides moisture, and there are several weeks of growing conditions before winter dormancy. Early April is a backup window but recovery is slower. Avoid summer renovation because heat and drought stress new seed.
ELawnCare charges £200 per 100m² for full lawn renovation including scarification, overseeding, and top dressing. A 100m² lawn costs £200. A 200m² lawn costs £400. The service covers CB1 to CB25 with no callout within 8 miles.
September is ideal. Warm soil and autumn rain create perfect conditions for seed germination and recovery. Early April is a secondary window. Avoid renovating in summer heat or winter cold. ELawnCare schedules renovations from late August through October.
Three to six weeks for visible improvement. New grass seed germinates in 7 to 14 days. The lawn fills in over the following weeks. By the next spring, a September-renovated lawn looks dramatically different. Avoid heavy foot traffic for three weeks after treatment.
