Who you are dealing with
ELawnCare is a sole trader business run by Evaldas, providing lawn care, garden maintenance and landscaping in Cambridge and the surrounding Cambridgeshire villages. Contact us at info.elawncare@gmail.com or on 07883 784147. These terms apply to every quote we give and every job we carry out, unless we have agreed something different with you in writing.
Quotes and prices
- Quotes are free, and there is no obligation to book.
- Online quotes are based on the information you give us. If the garden turns out to be materially different when we arrive, we will tell you the revised price before starting rather than surprising you afterwards.
- Published rates are labour only for landscaping work. Materials such as slabs, sand, cement, timber and turf are quoted separately after a site visit, and turf is supplied at cost.
- A quote holds for 30 days.
There is a £40 minimum charge per visit. Inside 8 miles of Cambridge there is no callout fee. Beyond that, travel is £25 flat or 50p per mile, whichever you prefer. A first cut on an overgrown lawn carries a 50% surcharge for that visit only.
Booking and access
You do not need to be home, provided we can reach the garden. Please make sure gates are unlocked, pets are indoors and vehicles are moved if they block access. If we cannot get in and have not been told in advance, we may charge the minimum visit fee to cover the wasted journey.
Please tell us about anything hidden in the lawn or borders, such as irrigation lines, cables, pipes, low walls or pet graves. We cannot be responsible for damage to buried items we were not told about.
Weather and rescheduling
Gardening depends on weather. Light rain is fine, but sustained wet, frozen ground or high winds make for poor results and unsafe work, so we may move your visit to the next suitable day. We will tell you when that happens. Rescheduling for weather is not a cancellation and carries no charge.
Cancellations
- Cancel or rearrange a routine visit with at least 24 hours notice at no charge.
- Cancel with less than 24 hours notice and we may charge the £40 minimum visit fee, because the slot can rarely be filled at short notice.
- For project work already scheduled, tell us as early as you can. If materials have been bought specifically for your job, those costs remain payable.
- Monthly plans can be paused or stopped with 30 days notice. There is no lock-in and no exit fee.
Payment
Payment is by cash or bank transfer after each visit, or monthly in arrears on a care plan. Invoices are due within 7 days. For larger landscaping projects we may ask for a contribution towards materials before they are ordered, which will be set out in your quote. We do not take card payments and never ask for card details by email or phone.
Our standard of work
Every job is carried out personally, not subcontracted. If you are unhappy with any part of a visit, tell us within 7 days and we will come back and put it right at no cost. That is the guarantee, and it is the whole of it. What we cannot promise is how a living lawn responds: grass, seed and turf depend on weather, soil, shade and aftercare, so we guarantee the workmanship rather than a particular shade of green.
Where aftercare matters, such as watering new turf or keeping off a freshly seeded lawn, we will tell you what is needed. Results depend on that being followed.
Insurance and liability
ELawnCare holds £2 million public liability insurance, and proof is available on request before work starts. We are responsible for damage caused by our own negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, damage to items we were not told about, or ordinary wear such as tyre marks on soft ground during wet conditions.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Hedges, wildlife and waste
Hedges are checked for active nests before cutting. It is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to damage an active nest, so if we find one in use we will leave that hedge and rebook, usually after August. Garden waste is removed on request at £12 per visit and disposed of responsibly. Waste we take away remains our responsibility once it leaves your property.
Photographs
We sometimes photograph work for our website and social media. Photos show the garden only, never you or your family, and never anything that identifies your address. Tell us if you would rather we did not, and we will not.
Complaints and law
Raise anything directly with us first at info.elawncare@gmail.com. We will respond within 5 working days and try to resolve it without fuss. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
Changes
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. The terms that apply to your job are the ones published when you booked. See also our privacy policy.
