How Much Does Hedge Trimming Cost in the UK?
Hedge trimming costs in the UK vary depending on hedge height, length, and access. ELawnCare charges £4 per metre for hedges up to 2m tall and £8 per metre for hedges above 2m. These are published rates, not estimates that change on arrival. A 10m hedge at standard height costs £40. The minimum visit charge is £40, so shorter hedges still cost at least that.
Monthly plans that include hedge trimming alongside regular mowing take 10% off. Coverage spans CB1 to CB25 with no callout charge within 8 miles. The business is owner-run with £2 million public liability insurance.

How hedge trimming is priced
Price per metre of hedge length is the fairest method. It accounts for the actual work rather than an hourly rate, which penalises speed and rewards slow work. ELawnCare measures the hedge, multiplies by the rate, and that is the price. No guessing, no inflation based on property appearance.
Hedges above 2m cost more per metre because they require different equipment, take longer per section, and generate more waste. Extremely tall hedges above 3m or hedges requiring a platform may be quoted individually.
How often hedges need trimming
Most formal hedges need trimming two to three times per year: late spring after the main growth flush, midsummer, and optionally early autumn. Conifer hedges like leylandii grow faster and may need three or four cuts. Native mixed hedges often need just one or two cuts per year.
