Garden Clearance in Cambridge
Garden clearance covers the whole range from a tidy-up to a badly overgrown garden: post-winter resets, end-of-tenancy clears and gardens that have been left for a season or several. £250 covers a small clearance as a half day, £375 a medium clearance as a full day, and large jobs start from £750 and are quoted after seeing the garden.
This is the right starting point when a garden is too far gone for a normal maintenance visit. Once it is clear, routine visits keep it that way for a fraction of the cost.

What a clearance covers and how it is priced
Clearance is priced by the day rather than by the item, because on a neglected garden nobody can count the work in advance. A half day at £250 typically covers a small garden brought back to usable: grass down, brambles and nettles cut out, beds cleared, paths and patios swept. A full day at £375 suits a medium garden or one that has had two or three seasons of neglect. From £750 covers large or heavily overgrown gardens, and those are quoted after photographs or a visit.
Waste is the part most quotes get wrong. The £12 disposal charge is a routine maintenance add-on for a mow or a hedge cut, and it does not cover clearance volumes. On a clearance, how much material there is, how it leaves the garden and where it goes is assessed and agreed as part of the quote before any work starts. Nobody is promising an unlimited volume of green waste for £12.
First cuts on an overgrown lawn inside a clearance carry the same 50% surcharge as a standalone first cut. Not covered: building rubble, household waste, fly-tipped material, asbestos or anything needing a licensed carrier, and felling or reducing trees, which wants a tree surgeon.
One-off clear, then keep it clear
The expensive pattern is letting a garden run wild, paying for a clearance, then letting it run wild again. One clearance followed by regular visits costs less across a year than two clearances, which is why most customers move onto a regular round afterwards rather than booking ad hoc.
A clearance is a one-off job on its own terms though. There is no obligation to take anything afterwards, and plenty of clearances are booked by landlords, agents and people selling a house who need the garden presentable once.
What is needed to quote, and access
Photographs do almost all the work here: the whole garden from a couple of angles, plus close-ups of the worst areas. Add your postcode, roughly how long the garden has been left, and any deadline you are working to. From that you get an honest half day, full day, or larger estimate rather than a number that changes on arrival.
Access decides how the waste leaves and how long the job takes. Say whether there is a side gate or only a route through the house, how wide the narrowest point is, whether a vehicle can park near the front, and whether there are steps. A garden that can only be emptied through a hallway is a different day's work from one with rear access.
