    What grass cutting costs

£20 per 100m² is the base rate, with a £40 minimum visit. A typical small Cambridge back garden of around 100m² is therefore covered by the minimum. Strimming and edging is £12 added to a mow, or £28 an hour booked on its own.

A monthly contract takes 10% off. Overgrown first cuts carry a 50% surcharge, after which you are on the standard rate.

    Weekly or fortnightly

Fortnightly suits most gardens through the growing season and keeps the cost down. Weekly is worth it in May and June, when grass grows fastest and a fortnight gap means cutting more than a third of the blade off at once, which stresses the lawn and leaves it looking yellow.

    COMMON QUESTIONS

    Frequently asked questions

£20 per 100m², with a £40 minimum visit. Strimming and edging adds £12. Cuttings disposal is £12 if you have no green bin space. Monthly contracts take 10% off. Overgrown first cuts are charged at a 50% surcharge for that visit only.

Every one to two weeks from March to October. Weekly in May and June when growth peaks. Never remove more than a third of the blade in a single cut, which is what makes a neglected lawn look yellow and scalped afterwards.

Yes if you want them gone, at £12 per visit. Otherwise cuttings go in your green bin at no charge. On smaller lawns during dry spells, leaving fine clippings on the surface feeds the lawn and is not laziness.

No, as long as there is access to the garden. Most customers leave a side gate unlocked. Payment is by cash or bank transfer after the visit, so there is nothing to organise on the day.

Yes, £40 per visit. That covers travel, setup and disposal on smaller plots. Inside 8 miles of Cambridge there is no separate callout fee on top of it.
