Garden Clean-up
Post-winter resets, end-of-tenancy clears, neglected gardens brought back to life.
ELawnCare runs autumn tidy-ups across Cambridge from September through November. Leaf clearance, a final hedge trim before winter, beds cut back, and the lawn prepared for the cold months ahead.
Autumn is also the best window for lawn scarification in Cambridgeshire. Warm soil and reliable moisture give new seed the conditions it needs to establish before growth slows. Getting the timing right here saves a rescue job in spring.

Leaf clearance from lawns, beds, paths and patios. A final hedge trim to tidy shape before winter dormancy. Herbaceous borders cut back and cleared. The lawn given a last mow at a slightly higher cut to protect it through the colder months.
Garden clearances start at £250 for a half day and £375 for a full day. For a standard autumn tidy on a maintained garden, a half day usually covers the work. Neglected gardens are quoted from £750 after a site visit.
September to mid-October is the ideal scarification window in Cambridge. The soil is still warm from summer, autumn rain provides moisture, and the grass has six to eight weeks of growing weather to recover before winter.
Lawn renewal starts at £200 per 100m² and includes scarifying, hollow-tine aeration and premium overseed. Booking scarification as part of an autumn tidy saves a separate visit.
Clearing fallen leaves before they mat down and kill the grass underneath, trimming hedges so they hold a clean shape through winter, and cutting back perennials that die back naturally. The goal is a garden that sits tidy through December to February with no further attention needed.
A half-day tidy-up is £250, a full day is £375. Most maintained gardens across CB1 to CB5 are covered by a half day. Larger or neglected gardens are quoted from £750 after a site visit. Leaf clearance and hedge trimming are included.
September to November. Earlier in the window if you want scarification included, because the lawn needs warm soil and six weeks of growth before winter. Leaf clearance makes more sense in October and November once the bulk of leaves have fallen.
Yes. Leaf clearance from lawns, beds, paths and patios is a core part of the autumn tidy. Leaves left matted on a lawn through winter kill the grass underneath and create bare patches that weeds colonise in spring.
Yes, and it is the most cost-effective way to do both. Scarification at £200 per 100m² is added to the tidy-up visit rather than booked as a separate trip, saving time and a second callout.
Yes. A final trim in September or October tidies the shape before dormancy and means the hedge holds a clean line through winter. Hedges at £4 per metre up to 2m and £8 per metre above, with a £40 minimum visit.
